Chloe gets sleepy
Morning had come in the city of Souls. It was a sluggish arrival, with the light of the twin suns rising slowly over the horizon. The streets were illuminated at last, after the darkness of the night the extinguishing of pallid street lamps was welcome to the citizens of Soul. At least, it was welcomed by most. There was one, one who, when the light of day glinted on her bedroom window and crept beneath the curtains, was deeply annoyed that the day had begun.
Her name was Chloe, and it could not be said that she was a morning person. It was five past six, and she was asleep, lying on her back, almost falling of the bed. She was quite content, until the light of day somehow crawled its way upon her face. Chloe scrunched up her eyes tightly in an effort to keep the light out. She failed, opening one sleepy eye and groaning softly, looking towards her alarm clock, she frowned as she saw the time it was and drifted in and out of sleep as she weighed out the positives and negatives of getting up.
After much deliberation, and one accidental but peaceful trip to dreamland, she pulled off the covers…and immediately regretted it, since the room was colder than it had ever been previously. With an annoyed shiver, Chloe rose and began to change out of her My Chemical Romance pajamas, wandering around the room and assembling her outfit, a task that was hard, as Chloe had not really woken up, and needed her coffee. She stumbled over to the wardrobe, a great mahogany thing, and looked through her selection. Almost immediately, Chloe pulled out a dress, a dress in bright red and yellow, she pulled it over her head, and found that it reached just above her knees. This was good; she thought as she smoothed it down and went about the rest of her morning arbitrations. A watch went on her wrist, hair was tidied up and make-up was applied.
It was cold, colder than it usually was in Soul. That was undeniable. As she finished applying her makeup, Chloe noticed how very cold her feet were, she looked down and wiggled her toes in an effort to warm them up, to little avail. “Hmm, cold feet” she said aloud to herself “Easy to solve…”
At seven minutes past eight, Chloe stepped out of her apartment, now fully awake and energetic after a hearty breakfast. She wore socks now, one striped in red and black, the other white with black spots. The suns were high in the sky now, and yet the warmth of them did not reach the street, which was glistening with ice, the gritty pavement shining. Chloe was cold, yet now she didn’t mind as much. Setting off towards the Blue District, close to the city core, Chloe thought nervously about the day ahead.
Chloe was an addict. But her drug was not of overly dangerous nature, no, her drug was coffee. She regularly had several cups of the liquid a day, and things had gotten out of hand. A friend had mentioned, almost as a joke, that Chloe would have to be hypnotized to get rid of her ridiculous coffee drinking. Though at the time this had seemed a silly notion, the more she thought about it, the more Chloe warmed to the idea…So, a few phone calls later, she found herself with an appointment booked with a renowned hypnotherapist, who went by the moniker Dr William Enthe.
She knew he was a professional, but still, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. Never before had she been hypnotized, so she had no idea how she would react, or if it would even work at all. With her Chloe carried a note, which simple read “Five Willow Street” and this was the destination she made for. It was not a long walk, yet the streets of Soul changed drastically as she wandered through them. There were gritty but nonetheless habitable buildings surrounding her apartment building, which transformed into an area of glass skyscrapers twisting upwards to heaven. Somewhere between these places…stood Willow Street, a strange mix of gothic and modern architecture. Chloe looked up at the buildings as she walked past, looking for number five. It was situated at the end of the street, in the northbound side. Chloe entered shyly, and asked for the Doctor…
At the door of an office bearing his name, she knocked. A man in his late twenties opened the door. He had hair that seemed to change colour, and he wore a light beard. He was smiling, and he beckoned her in.
“So, you must be Chloe?”
“That’s me…I’m glad you could fit me in”
“Good, good. It was no trouble, and we always welcome new clients. My name is Dr Enthe, wonderful to meet you, please sit.”
Chloe took a seat in front of the large desk that dominated the room, she sat with her arms crossed and smiled nervously.
It’s nice to meet you Doctor…did they tell you why I came to you?”
The Doctor sat behind his desk and sorted through some paperwork as he spoke.
“They did not; I was hoping you could tell me?”
“Um, well…I’m basically addicted to coffee…so much that I can’t function without it…”
“Ah, I see…I see. I take it this will be the first time you will be hypnotized?”
“Yep…I’m a little nervous!”
Chloe laughed, and smiled a bit, the doctor did too, and looked at her for a long while.
“There is no need to be…You’re in capable hands, rest assured. Now, I think we should begin inducing you, are you quite ready?
She wasn’t sure, but she was intrigued and wanted some sort of cure. She looked at her feet and answered.
“I think I am”
“Good, then relax…get comfortable, and breathe deeply”
Chloe did this, uncrossing her arms and slipping of her shoes. She took a deep breath in, and let it out…feeling slightly less nervous. Doctor Enthe fished around momentarily in a draw, and took out a silver pocket watch. He held it in front of Chloe’s eyes, and began to swing it slowly.
“Now, I want you to focus on this watch, okay? Just watch it, let your eyes follow it back and forth.” She did so, her eyes darting from side to side, she was still breathing deeply, and felt a wave of relaxation wash over her as she focused. “That’s right, just watch it, relax…listen to my voice” the doctor told her, keeping the watch swinging steadily. “Noticing that you become more relaxed as you watch…” Chloe blinked slowly, sinking into her chair, her arms falling limply to her sides… “Now, you’re eyelids are getting heavy Chloe…so heavy, so hard to keep them open…” Her eyelids blinked again, fluttering down over her eyes, she had never felt so relaxed, her eyes almost half closed as she tried so hard to keep them open. The Doctor noticed it working, and continued “You are feeling sleepy Chloe…relaxing even more…so sleepy…”
She nodded, her eyes closed for a moment and her head fell forwards. She jerked up again, her eyes blinking rapidly, and closing very slowly. She was confused, and sleepy…she could hardly think, barely in touch with the world.
“so sleepy now…so hard to keep focus” the doctor said softly “so sleepy…” Chloe’s eyelids touched briefly before opening again, almost completely closed over her eyes. Her eyes rolled backwards and she struggled even more against sleep. She knew it was working…and she liked the feeling of peace and relaxation…her eyelids drooped down, her toes pointed towards each other. “Sleep Chloe…sleep” said the doctor.
She let her eyes close…and her head nodded forward onto her chest very slowly, she couldn’t resist any longer, and she let herself go under…
Now, Chloe was hypnotized, very deeply. Doctor Enthe stopped swinging the watch and put it down on his desk.
“Chloe, you are hypnotized…relaxed and peaceful, can you hear me?”
There was a pause, she answered in a monotone whisper…
“…yes…”
“Good girl, now, just sleep and listen to me…You are in a café…you have in your hand a cup of coffee. You take a sip, and the world around you starts to become dark and dirty, how does that make you feel?
“It’s…horrid…everything is ugly and burnt…
They went on like this, and eventually Chloe found coffee disgusting. The Doctor was proud with his progress, and hers. But he hadn’t quite finished with her yet…

Hypnovember: Day 24 - Snoring
(Alternate title: Trails from Zzzzzero) Crossbell never sleeps. An independent city state sandwiched between the Erebonian Empire and the Republic of Calvard, the two biggest superpowers in Western Zemuria, caught in a seemingly endless tug of war of annexation and conquest by its two much larger and stronger neighbours, ever since the signing of the Non-Aggression Pact and the official declaration of Crossbellan independence, the city had seen rapid growth. Its central location and political neutrality had made it into a bustling hub of international trade and, with it, technological advancement. While Crossbell may have lacked the military strength or sheer size of its neighbours, the city was at the forefront of the cutting edge, pioneering Orbal telephones and computer networks, and this prosperity naturally attracted people. Crossbell had swiftly evolved into the beating metropolitan heart of Western Zemuria, a cosmopolitan melting pot where practically anything and all cultures

A Bundle of Snores and Drool
Elena had just arrived at Kaitlyn’s house. It was more like a manor, actually. The two girls were going to spend the day together, and Elena couldn’t wait! Kaitlyn’s parents told Elena that the other princess was up in her bedroom. She made her way up the massive spiral staircase and knocked on Kaitlyn’s door. No response, but the door was unlocked. She opened it and stepped inside. “Yooo, Kaitlyyyyn!” Lying on her bed was Kaitlyn. It didn’t take Elena long at all to realize that she was asleep. Kaitlyn was wrapped up in several long blankets and sheets that looked more like a dark pink cocoon. Only her head was sticking out, and Elena noticed she was snoring. As she snored, her jaw opened wide and closed halfway with each exhale. Drool ran out of both sides of her mouth and onto the sheets underneath her. Despite being short, she had monster-level snores. “Kaiiiiitttlyyynnn…” Elena called with a smile, walking over to the bundle of snores that was her friend. Her eyes were closed
